Hetzner and Friends Celebrate New Nuremberg Data Center Park
Hetzner Online AG, along with 400 guests, has celebrated the launch of its new Nuremberg data center park. The latest addition to Hetzner's business will operate alongside its existing data centers in Nuremberg-Altenfurt and Falkenstein/Vogtland as the company continues to expand. Attending the celebration was City Mayor Dr. Ulrich Maly who congratulated the company on their success, citing their award as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in Bavaria as a worthy accolade. Speaking of the professional web hosting provider's new development, Christian Fitz, spokesman for Hetzner Online, stated "The main reasons for choosing the site at Nuremberg's Business Park are its close proximity to the substation, its fibre optic cable connections for a fast exchange of data, as well as an appropriately-sized area of land for further expansion," The power for the new facility is being taken redundantly from the network provider, thus ensuring no interruptions to the power supply. This safety net means that in the event of a power outage, generators are able to supply sufficient power for the whole of the data center, just one of the advantages the new park will bring to Hetzner. With the first two centers offering room for up to 32,000 servers, the Nuremberg park will far exceed their capacity by allowing for more than 150,000 servers to be permanently connected to the Internet.
