Web Hosting Provider Go Daddy makes India No.1 Priority in Global Expansion

Go Daddy is making India their priority market in their plans for a large global expansion. In order to achieve their goal, the domain name registrars have appointed Rajiv Sodhi as their Managing Director of Go Daddy India.

Based in New Delhi, Sodhi will become the company’s first International Executive, using his 14 years of experience to oversee Go Daddy’s attempt to break into the Indian market.

Sodhi has already begun recruiting a team for the Indian segment of the company and explained the attraction of working for the web-hosting company.

"Go Daddy's understanding of small business needs, their capacity to serve a large customer-base and their commitment to first-rate service are the primary attributes that drew me to Go Daddy India," he explained.

"Go Daddy offers a one-stop shop for small businesses and consumers who are looking to grow their businesses on the Internet. From a simple domain name, or a mobile website, to cloud services, Go Daddy has it all."

Sodhi holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Engineering, specializing in Computer Science and had previously occupied the Director of SMB position at Microsoft India. Here his role comprised of working with small to medium sized businesses with views to enhancing their online presence.

Go Daddy CEO Warren Adelman commented on the appointment of Sodhi, claiming he had the experience they were seeking, "We knew we needed an experienced technologist, with a deep understanding of India's culture and our Go Daddy brand of customer service,” he admitted.

Go Daddy has already been investing time in India by hosting two web developer events in Chennai and Mumbai. Go Daddy Senior Director of Product Development Gomathi Rajesh grew up in Chennai before working at Go Daddy for the last eight years and spoke at the two events regarding opportunities for online businesses in India.

Sodhi concluded, "This is the dawn of a new era for Go Daddy. In the months ahead, Go Daddy India will be ramping up our investments in people, assets and resources."
